Hard to believe, it was 1 year ago

We can't believe that one year ago today we left for Kazakhstan. Our lives were forever changed and the year has flown by. When we started this process we heard numerous times, adoption is not for the weary. Man, they were not kidding. We waited almost 2 years and towards the end we were getting pretty antsy. We followed blogs, emailed familes and we wanted to know when was it going to be our turn. When, when, when. We were pretty sure we were going to have gray hair and false teeth by the time we got our news. Now a year later; it seems like a lifetime ago. You wait and wait and then it just flies by. A year ago, we were on a plane, sedated, ok maybe just me, and looking forward to meeting the newest member of our family. Today, we are picking food up off the floor, wiping runny noses , changing poopy diapers and having the greatest time of our lives.

It is so hard to express all the feelings we have had this past year. It has been so unbelievable because it WAS worth the wait. All the blogs we read, all the emails we received were such a comfort along our journey. It was so nice to read and see other families living their dream knowing ours was coming soon. Well, one year ago our dream came true.

I know I have not blogged in a while, but life has seemed to get in the way. Liam has just been a delight and it is so much fun watching him do something different every day. Even if it is climbing on the chair to get to the kitchen table.

When Liam first came home he was in the low percentiles for his height and weight. He is now in the 90th % for both. He eats like a horse and then runs it off and believe me, he runs it off. He is speaking now; saying all kinds of words, some we know some we don't. He started walking at 13-14 months and is now running every where. We keep in contact with our friends that were with us in Kaz and it is great seeing everyone when we get together. We also have friends here in NJ that adopted from Kaz and Liam and Grace get along great.

Too say that this has been one of our greatest experiences in life would be an understatement.

We are so happy Liam is in our life. We are now waiting again. We can't wait for Liam's brother or sister to arrive.
At the tree in NYC. Liam is not as exicited as we are. Maybe next year.
Grace and Liam playing.
On our road trip to Florida, Liam decided he did not want to sleep in the pack n play. Who could blame him.
Stopped at our friends for a quick visit on the way down to Fla. Noah and Liam playing. Just two cuties from BH#2 in Uralsk.
Finally got to Florida. Sunny, but chilly.
