We all went to the court building and waited to be invited into the courtroom. In the courtroom were: Keith, myself, Olga the translator, the babyhouse director, the inspector, and of course the judge. He went through all our paper work, asked some basic questions eg. what is your middle name? (It's not on my passport.) He also verified addresses, birthdates, etc. He then started asking us questions the prosecutor might ask us on Monday eg. Why are we adopting?, Why Kazakhstan, etc. He also went over what will happen on Monday and what we should expect. He seemed like a nice man.
.
At the hearing on Monday, Keith will have to make a little speech petitioning the court to adopt Liam. We are also asking for immediate execution. I will only have to say a few sentences when he is done. If for some reason we forget something , the judge or prosecutor will ask what they did not hear when we are done. Our court hearing is set for Monday at 10:15am.
After court, we came home and starting cooking. We decided to make Lasanga. Unfortunately, some key ingredients were missing. Herbs and spices that we can easily get at home and 0bviously, take for granted are not to be found here, in Uralsk. Oregano, basil; not happening here. Mozzarella, forget it. We were able to get fresh parsley. We prepared everything we could get, put it in the fridge and then went to see Liam.
Poor Liam. He was just not feeling well today. He was still smiling, but just not himself. He wanted to be held and rocked. His right eye was a little swollen and some "stuff" was coming out of it. We asked Olga to have the babyhouse doctor look at him. After very little playtime, he fell asleep. Hopefully, tomorrow he will feel better. We will feel so much better when we are home and can have our IA doctor do a full check up.
We then came home, put the lasanga in the oven and asked everyone to come for dinner. After a taste test, we deemed it edible. Not only was the lasanga edible, it was actually really good. Rachel, Dave and Noah came over. We had a nice night; our last friday night as a family of two. Can't wait for Monday.
