It is a lot warmer today than yesterday, although, it did snow a little bit. Of course, we slept right though it. It was actually in the 20's compared to last night's 1. We went to the local museum here in Uralsk. It was very interesting and informative but the biggest attraction today for others in the museum was us-the Americans. There was a large group of kids, probably on a school trip, visiting and they came over and asked if we would take a picture with them. Pretty funny. We are celebrities one minute and then we are being followed in the grocery store by security the next.
While driving to the grocery store, we noticed alot of big pipes that run along side the road. We found out this is their hot water. Very interesting I thought. I tried to take a picture but we were in the car so I only got the top part.
Tonight we are going to cook at home and then watch a movie with our new friends, Dave & Rachel from Virginia.
Hopefully I will be able to post pictures of Liam tomorrow.

Pipeline on the side of the roads.

Haha! we had the same experience with kids when we went to the theater... which you have got to try and see a show... across the street from the museum... we saw one the first time... it was in Kazakh and was a lot of fun! it was only a couple dollars when we went...
ReplyDeleteYour jet lag will probably be gone in a week... :) Glad you are having a good time!I am praying that baby gets better so he can spend some time with his mommy and daddy! Have a good night! :)

Don't you love the the churches? So beautiful! Moscow had the same huge pipes along the road and our driver joked with us that this was Russia's idea of fine art.
ReplyDeleteI am keeping my fingers crossed that you get to hang with Liam tomorrow!
Bummer that Liam is still sick. I know you must be dying to spend more time with him. We were in the apartment you are in. Make sure you borrow the family books from the other apartment - it has lots of great tips for things to do and restaurants to eat at.
ReplyDeleteTake care,

Hope you guys get to see him soon. I know you guys are dying to spend time wit him. It must kill you not to be able to see him. Hope everything goes well tomorow.
ReplyDeleteHi from Auntie Anne! FYI, there is no such thing as the "right kind of bink" for an Izzo child. A true Izzo child will only spit the bink right out! Liam is beautiful!! We cant wait for him to come home. We love and miss you all. Keep the pictures coming. They're the best part of our day. God bless you all-happy family
ReplyDeleteHi Uncle Keith and Aunt Jacquie we hope you guys are having fun. We cant wait to see Liam. Bring home our only boy cousin. Liam is by far the cutest baby boy ever. We can't wait to see you.!
